If you are in danger right now, close this page and call 112. This page is general guidance, not legal advice.

The first 3 things (10 minutes)

  1. Call the bank (or payment app) you sent the money from and ask to report scam damage and freeze the receiving account. Follow the bank's instructions.
  2. File a report at the National Police Agency cyber crime portal (ecrm.police.go.kr), by calling 112, or at a police station.
  3. Screenshot the chat, listing, account number and phone number now. Do not send more money or click unknown links.
